Devolver Digital hinted there’s a “great chance” Broforce is coming to Switch.
Devolver Digital and Free Lives’ Broforce may be heading to Nintendo Switch, according to a tweet sent from Devolver on Friday.
The news came after one Broforce fan asked Devolver if the indie title would come to Nintendo Switch down the road. While that user has since locked his Twitter account, an archive pulled from Reddit bot tweettranscriberbot caught his original message.
“You might’ve gotten this question before, but I couldn’t find anything about it when searching,” fan Jude Gore tweeted on Friday. “Any chance of getting Broforce on the Switch?”
“A great chance,” Devolver replied.
At this rate, Broforce may land on the Nintendo Switch during this year. That wouldn’t be particularly surprising, however. The game originally launched on PC, Mac, and Linux in October 2015 after arriving on Steam Early Access in April 2014. The run-and-gun action game casts players as a team of pop culture-inspired heroes rescuing prisoners of war, destroying America’s enemies en masse, and laying waste to an entire landscape while “liberating” the world. References range from Chuck Norris to Ellen Ripley from Alien, and the indie title remains a favorite since the game’s release over two years ago.
Neither Devolver Digital nor Free Lives have given any additional information about Broforce’s Nintendo Switch version. However, this wouldn’t be Devolver’s first Switch title. The indie gaming publisher originally landed on the Switch with a port for Enter the Gungeon in 2017, bringing the company’s top-down roguelike shooter over to Nintendo’s console during its first year. Devolver has since announced two of its upcoming games for Switch: Pikuiku and The Messenger.
