Blizzard has posted a job listing for a Dungeon Artist for a new Diablo project.Â
“The minions of Hell are growing stronger…” the listing reads. “We’re working on a new, unannounced Diablo project. Are you a skilled Dungeon Artist? Come work with us, and together we will build something exceptional.”
The company is seeking individuals with both 2D and 3D modeling chops, who work “well” with peers who are “passionate about working on the dark gothic world of Diablo, making great games, killing millions of monsters and getting loot!”Â
Successful candidates, according to Blizzard, will also get to author environmental assets, create models and textures for the new Diablo world, serve as an “active participant” in team art discussions, critiques, and reviews,” and of course a passion for games to top it all off. Not to mention you’d be working on one of the most popular PC RPGs of all time.
Unfortunately, aside from running down some of the requirements for the position, we aren’t privy to any real details about what kind of Diablo game this might be referring to. With E3 2018 right around the corner, we could be hearing something more in the coming week, but it’s more likely Blizzard will wait until BlizzCon 2018 to announce anything too substantial.
A Diablo II remastered version would certainly help to ease our pain that there isn’t a new Diablo game on the horizon just yet, or perhaps that’s what this listing is for. In any case, this listing sure does get us thinking about what could be coming down the line.
