Square Enix opened its E3 2018 conference with a meaty look at Shadow of the Tomb Raider, following Lara on her adventure as she journeyed through the treetops, executed stealth kills on unsuspecting enemies, and made some makeshift camo in the jungle. She’s out for blood, but only when she can attack from the shadows, it seems.

Eidos Montreal senior game director Daniel Chayer-Bisson was on hand to discuss how Lara will become “one with the jungle” during Shadow of the Tomb Raider as she takes on her enemies from the darkness of the trees and grass around her. The influence of games like the Batman: Arkham Asylum series is extremely clear in this new footage since we see a swath of silent takedowns and Lara getting into gritty combat situations.

With new traversal techniques, including full 360-degree underwater exploration and survival, grappling, and other actions, Lara will be capable of performing much bigger feats this time around. The hub world, according to Chayer-Bisson, is the largest that’s ever been created for any Tomb Raider title, complete with a hidden city and a number of tombs to explore as you make your way through the game.Â
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is targeting a Sept. 14 launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’ll be playable on the E3 show floor at the Square Enix booth, and the NVIDIA booth will be hosting a special playable demo of the PC version by appointment only at E3 2018.Â
