A new story trailer for The Division 2 also depicts a bleak future for America.
During Ubisoft’s E3 2018 press conference, the game publisher announced three free DLC updates for The Division 2’s first year, along with eight-man raids and new specialization offers for its endgame.
During The Division 2’s initial year, Ubisoft will have three separate DLC updates. Prior to each episode, The Division 2 will receive a new title update and an additional world event, with Episode 1, Episode 2, and Episode 3 all planned for the game’s first 12 months. Each DLC update brings new story updates, new areas to explore, and new activities. Each DLC episode will be completely free, too, meaning players won’t have to spend additional money in order to keep up with The Division 2’s storyline.
In a move to improve The Division 2’s endgame, players can also change their character’s role after finishing the game’s main campaign. That means players can embrace new progression paths by choosing a different specialization, receive exclusive weapons, and improve their teamwork with their allies after reaching endgame. Additional tools, abilities, and exclusive skills are available after completing the main story as well, letting players “truly complete” their playstyles.
Eight-man raids are also coming to The Division 2’s multiplayer gameplay, letting huge friend groups tackle the game’s levels. A new story trailer gives players a closer look into the world after a plague ravages America, leaving Washington, D.C. with a tyrannical terrorist organization trying to take control of the country.
The Division 2 launches on March 15, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Interested players can sign-up for the game’s beta at The Division 2’s official website.
