Beyond Good and Evil 2 was confirmed at E3 2017, promising a large-scale galactic experience with space travel and combat.

And it looks like developer Ubisoft Montpellier is making good on that promise, as demonstrated in the Beyond Good and Evil 2 footage shown during Ubisoft’s E3 2018 press conference on June 11.

In the footage, we learned more about pirate protagonist Shani and her place in the Beyond Good and Evil 2 world. She’s able to leap from ship to ship, fighting enemies and dashing around using her jetpack. There’s a ton of action on display in Beyond Good and Evil 2, much of which isn’t scripted, according to the development team. It’s all moments that ebb and flow along with battle and player decisions.

We also got a look at Jade. She looks younger than in the first game of the series, which makes sense, since it’s a prequel, as well as more legendary characters from the original game. It’s unclear for now what role she’ll be playing in the game, but expect Beyond Good and Evil 2 to the pave the way for her story from the first game.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is expected to have a robust character creation system, allowing players to create their own pirate captains and enter the game’s world. No release date was revealed yet, but for more information on the game and its story, watch Ubisoft’s breakdown for the E3 2018 trailer.
