SGDQ 2018 has come to an end, raising over $2 million in total donations for Doctors without Borders and becoming the most successful summer event in GDQ history.
With SGDQ out of the way, fans of the popular Twitch speedrunning marathon will be looking ahead to Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2019.
The GDQ staff revealed that AGDQ 2019 will be heading to Rockville, Maryland from Jan. 6 to 13. The venue for the event, however, hasn’t been announced. The charity that AGDQ will raise for also hasn’t been decided at this time, but it’s widely expected to the the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

The next Games Done Quick event, though, will be Games Done Quick Express at TwitchCon from Oct. 26 to 28 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. The event will support charities participating in TwitchCon’s Charity Plaza and is the first event of its kind.
GDQ events are charity speedrunning marathons hosted twice a year. The events bring together thousands of viewers who in turn donate money to charity to watch some of their favorite games played by the world’s most talented speedrunners. The GDQ marathons have raised over $16 million for various charities so far, with no end in sight.
The announcement follows the usual trend of AGDQ events starting shortly after the new year. This is also the first time that an AGDQ will be held in Rockville, and ends a four-year stint at the Hilton Washington Dulles in Herndon, Virginia.
