The Boomsday Project is adding legendary spells to the game for the first time. They are the last type of card in the game to get legendary rarity cards—and unsurprisingly they’re all pretty powerful.

The Boomship is a nine mana legendary Warrior spell. It summons three random minions from your hand and gives them Rush, meaning they can attack the turn they are played.

This is certainly similar to Varian Wrynn from The Grand Tournament set, except that card pulled minions from the deck instead of the hand. Before you play The Boomship, you’ll have to draw the minions you want and have them in hand—but it does mean you have a certain amount of control over which minions will come out.

The Boomsday Project is the second expansion of the current Standard year, the Year of the Raven. It will add 135 new cards to the game, including new keywords like Magnetic. It is currently available to pre-order, with all the cards becoming available on Aug. 7.
