Blizzard has announced that, after the various rumors and job listings we’ve seen flying

Community manager Brandy Camel took the time to explain that, yes, there are “multiple” Diablo projects “in the works.” “Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year,” Camel said, in a new video called “The Future of Diablo.”

Unfortunately, that brief confirmation was all Camel had to share during the clip about the upcoming games, but it’s given us hope for something to look forward to, after all. Previously, we’ve seen several hints at new games coming down the pipeline, such as a job listing for a dungeon artist that miraculously appeared via the Blizzard careers page this year. In the listing, the company sought individuals who were “passionate about working on the dark gothic world of Diablo,” as well as those with 2D and 3D modeling experience.

Before that job listing popped up, we also heard rumors swirling around in February that Diablo III could potentially be headed to the Nintendo Switch. A report via Eurogamer seemed to confirm this, but Blizzard vehemently denied the rumors.

It’s unclear what’s next for the popular RPG series, but one thing’s for sure: It’s good to hear that something’s brewing at Blizzard, because there’s only so many times you can go back and play the older games in the series before it starts getting a little old. Hopefully the reveal later this year will give us something to chew on.
