Here’s everything you need to know about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta.
How do I get a code for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta?
If you had access to the Black Ops 4 private multiplayer beta, you won’t need a separate code for the Blackout beta.
Do not delete the download file for the Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta—You’ll use the same file to access the Blackout beta.
When does the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta start, and which platforms can you play it on?
The Blackout beta will first come to PlayStation 4 on Sept. 10. The Xbox One and an early-access PC beta exclusively on Battle.net will start on Sept. 14 at 12pm CT, with the open PC beta set to begin at the same time on Sept. 15.
The PS4 exclusive beta will run from Sept. 10 to 14. The PS4 and Xbox One beta will be available from Sept. 14 to 17. The early-access PC beta starts on Sept. 14, while the open PC beta will run from Sept. 15 to 17.Â
How do I redeem my code for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta?
If you downloaded (and didn’t delete) the Black Ops 4 private multiplayer beta, you won’t have to do anything in order to access the Blackout beta—That file will be updated when the Blackout beta becomes available on your platform.
But, if you pre-ordered Black Ops 4 after the private multiplayer ended, or you simply didn’t download the multiplayer beta, there might be a few steps you’ll need to follow in order to access the Blackout beta.
For the multiplayer beta, anyone who pre-ordered Black Ops 4 from a participating retailer instead of digitally on your console of choice received an access code. The beta code would be printed on your retail receipt or emailed to you after you’ve successfully pre-ordered the game.
After redeeming this code on the Call of Duty website, players received a private beta token via email just before the multiplayer beta began. This token was used to download the multiplayer beta.
To enter your private beta access code, you needed to log in to you Call of Duty account—If you don’t have an account, you can create one for free. Once you’ve done this, you simply had to enter your private beta access code and wait to receive an email with a private beta token.
A process similar to the one described above may be necessary for any players who didn’t access or download the private multiplayer beta, but that’s unconfirmed at this time.
If you have any issues redeeming your private beta access code, you can visit the Black Ops 4 beta FAQ page.
