Dice released a brand new trailer for Battlefield V earlier today, showing off its large range of multiplayer modes, maps, and features. One of these modes included their battle royale take, now called “Firestorm.”
While games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite have normalized the 100-person free for all, Battlefield‘s will support up to 64 players in a match. That’s not the only difference.
Unlike your typical battle royale modes, this will be team-based with 16 teams of four. There is no mention of a single player option for the mode, so if you’re the lone wolf type, you might need to look elsewhere.
Each map will be sandbox-like with dozens of vehicles and weapons scattered around. There was no mention on maps, but the trailer did reveal that players will be visiting eight “unexplored settings.”
