A new leak suggests that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds could be coming to the PlayStation 4, according to Eurogamer.
A common place to find details of unannounced future titles, the Korean game ratings board has outed a PS4 version of 2017’s hit battle royale game, which is currently a console exclusive on Xbox One.
This December will mark the one year anniversary of the release of PUBG on Xbox One, so it’s possible that the PS4 version could be announced or released soon after that.
PUBG spent the majority of 2018 in Xbox’s Game Preview program before officially becoming a full release in the beginning of September. Sony’s PS4 does not have an early access-like program, so PUBG would need to be a full release from the start.
PUBG first released into Steam early access last year before landing a full release in December, alongside the launch of the Xbox Game Preview version. A mobile version of PUBG also released earlier in 2018.
Another battle royale title, H1Z1, released as a free-to-play game on PS4 back in May and found a good amount of success. PUBG, meanwhile, still sports a $30 pricetag, unlike H1Z1 and Fortnite, so it will be interesting to see how PUBG fares if and when it does release on the popular console.
