It’s been a busy six-month stint for Microsoft Studios, which has grown exponentially since the days at E3 2018.
The gaming division at Microsoft has indeed made official the acquisition of Playground Games, Undead Labs, Compulsion Games and Ninja Theory, and founded a brand new Santa Monica team, The Initiative, in June.
Then, at X018 in early November, the company has announced that Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment have joined the family, too.
So, such big maneuvers were sure enough going to require a bit of rework when it comes to the public image of the Xbox teams.
This is why after the acquisition flow has ended, at least for this year, Microsoft has launched a renewed version of its official website.
You can check it out here, and it features all the twelve studios (plus Microsoft Studios Global Publishing, which is not a team creating games) now part of the family at Xbox with a message for the readers:
“Microsoft Studios are creating new experiences for gamers across the world.
Microsoft Studios includes 13 distinct and diverse game development teams. We’re focused on implementing new Microsoft technologies, delivering content for new platforms and services like Xbox Game Pass, and creating exclusive games that turn players into loyal Xbox fans.
We are committed to expanding the Microsoft Studios franchises players already love, and investing in new, exclusive content for every type of gamer.”
That was a required step and one that lets you look at the renewed passion Microsoft has poured into gaming for the future.
