The Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account came to life with a single-word tweet today, setting the gaming world off. Due to the success of The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 is possibly the most anticipated game in recent memory. We discuss what a single-word tweet could really mean.
Few would argue that The Witcher 3 is a great game. In fact, it continues to sell well almost three years after it came out. At TL;DR Games, The Witcher 3 is jokingly (not really) referred to as the bar if you want to give a game a perfect review score, something Aidan O’Brien says will never happen. This success has led to a ridiculous amount of anticipation for CD Projekt RED’s next title, Cyberpunk 2077.
*beep*

Earlier today on Twitter, CD Projekt RED made the hearts of gamers skip a beat when the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account came alive at 9 a.m. EST exactly. It was a short and simple tweet, but that’s irrelevant. Fans have been waiting so long for word on Cyberpunk 2077 that the smallest bit of information or communication turns into a big deal.
What does it mean? Well, the beep could be to indicate that something is turning on. Maybe that’s a sign that we’ll see more information through the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account. And, if we see more from the Twitter account, does that mean Cyberpunk 2077 is on its way? Well, we know it’s on its way, but maybe we’re getting close?
What’s interesting, though, is that as I searched for media to include with this news, I found the Cyber Punk 2077 teaser trailer. This is nothing new. It’s been out for four years, debuting on January 10, 2013 according to its YouTube timestamp. But wait… that means that the Cyberpunk 2077 “Beep” from its Twitter account was four years to the day since the teaser trailer. It might mean nothing. It might mean something. It might just be someone at CD Projekt RED having a giggle with the social media account.
See what I mean? The smallest peep from a highly anticipated game and the internet goes and loses its damn mind, just like I have. The Witcher 3 might be the best game I’ve ever played in my life, and that has earned CD Projekt RED my energy when it comes to hype and anticipation for their next title.
We’re going to monitor this Cyberpunk 2077 situation closely, and by that, I mean we’re going to sit on their Twitter feed until we turn to dust. If there is any information released about the game, we’ll be all over it, including looking out for a concrete release date.
