The Weather Cup will take place from April 19, 2023, to April 26, 2023, in Pokémon Go. You can use any Pokémon so long as they are a Fire, Ice, Rock, or Water-type, and they cannot exceed 2,500 CP.

Abomasnow, Politoed, and Jellicent

This first team will utilize Abomasnow, Politoed, and Jellicent. Abomasnow will be the lead Pokémon for this composition. Although it is heavily weak against Fire-type moves, Abomasnow is a superb option for this competitive cup, and we recommend using Politoed and Jellicent on this team. Politoed is a solid Water and Ground-type Pokémon, and Jellicent is an all-rounder Water and Ghost-type, ideal to be the Closing Pokémon for this team when participating in Pokémon Go’s Weather Cup.

  • Abomasnow: Powder Snow (fast move), Energy Ball, and Weather Ball (Ice-type)
  • Politoed: Mud Shot (fast move), Weather Ball (Water-type), and Earthquake
  • Jellicent: Hex (fast move), Surf, and Shadow Ball

Cradily, Swampert, and Kingdra

For this next combination, we suggest you utilize Cradily, Swampert, and Kingdra. We want to highlight Cradily, likely the best Pokémon for any player to use in this competition. Cradily will come out swinging in these fights with its incredibly impressive moveset in Pokémon Go, but it is weak against Bug and Ice-type attacks, which you want to watch out and protect against. You want to make sure to grab Swampert and Kingdra for this team to round out the setup and protect against the weaknesses during these battles.

  • Cradily: Bullet Seed (fast move), Stone Edge, and Grass Knot
  • Swampert: Mud Shot (fast move), Hydro Cannon, and Earthquake
  • Kingdra: Dragon Breath (fast move), Outrage, and Octazooka

Tentacruel, Lanturn, and Walrein

For this next combination, we suggest using Tentacruel, Lanturn, and Walrein. Tentacruel will be your Lead Pokémon. It’s a defensive Pokémon that can use its bulk to bully most opponents, with excellent charged attacks that debuff opponents. When you’re ready to switch, you can use Lanturn, a perfect Water and Electric-type Pokémon to use in Pokémon Go’s Weather Cup, and Walrein, a go-to Water and Ice-type many players are likely familiar with using in the Great and Ultra Leagues.

  • Tentacruel: Poison Jab (fast move), Acid Spray, and Scald
  • Lanturn: Spark (fast move), Surf, and Thunderbolt
  • Walrein: Powder Snow (fast move), Icicle Spear, and Earthquake

Samurott, Tapu Fini, and Regirock

For this team, we will suggest using Samurott, Tapu Fini, and Regirock. This team does require two legendary that you have to catch in Pokémon Go, but with Samurott in the front, it could do some good work. Samurott focuses on several Bug-type attacks that can make it extremely situational, with Tapu Fini pulling some heavy-weight Water-type moves, and a Fairy-type charged attack. Finally, Regirock can hold the line as the final Pokémon, capable of holding its own against a majority of Pokémon in this league.

  • Samurott: Fury Cutter (fast move), Hydro Cannon, and Megahorn
  • Tapu Fini: Water Gun (fast move), Surf, and Moonblast
  • Regirock: Lock On (fast move), Stone Edge, and Focus Blast

Ludicolo, Alolan Sandslash, and Kyurem

Our last team will feature Ludicolo, Alolan Sandslash, and Kyurem. Ludicolo is a solid starting Pokémon that can take out several Grass-types you may encounter during these battles. However, Alolan Sandslash can swap out if you need to utilize its Ground-type move, perfect to counter Electric-types that could be sneaking into the league. Finally, Kyurem is a solid Pokémon to have your team as a Dragon-type, making it perfect to utilize in Pokémon Go’s Weather Cup.

  • Ludicolo: Razor Leaf (fast move), Ice Beam, and Leaf Storm
  • Alolan Sandslash: Shadow Claw (fast move), Ice Punch, and Bulldoze
  • Kyurem: Dragon Breath (fast move), Dragon Claw, and Glaciate
