Deckard Cain is tired of being a kindly old man it seems! He will be making his way to the Nexus, to fight alongside the other characters in Heroes of the Storm. We will know Deckard already, he is a quest giving NPC in Blizzard’s highly successful Diablo series. Heroes of the Storm has, of course, turned into its own success story.

Deckard will take the form of an area-denying, and healing, Support. His “Fortitude of the Faithful” trait will grant him armor, and faster recharge times for his basic abilities, as long as he stays close to allies. “Healing Potion” does exactly as you would expect, healing his teammates. He can also cast a large, area of effect slow, and a strong area of effect root. His Heroic ability, “Stay awhile, and listen”, causes enemies to sleep as he reads to them from one of his many books. He second Heroic, “Lorenado”, allows him to cast a large tornado that will push away enemies.

Deckard seems like he will excel in team fight scenarios, and should be a strong pick for teams who want to run in large numbers. He should also be extremely useful on the game’s many maps that require teams to try and control areas. As of yet, no release date has been announced, but we can expect him to arrive around the middle of the month. Generally speak, new Heroes make their way to the Nexus around two weeks or so after their reveal.

As someone who ends up playing a lot of Support in Heroes of the Storm, I’m looking forward to seeing exactly how annoying all of his crowd control can be.
