Bungie has released its third web comic, this time focusing on Ana Bray’s whereabouts on Mars during the early time of the Cabal invasion of the system. The comic helps lay the foundation for what we can expect to encounter in Destiny 2’s Warmind DLC which will be released next week on May 8th.
One way that Bungie has seen fit to help round out the lore behind Destiny 2 is via the means of web comics. They started releasing this fairly early on and they’re quite excellent, but sadly Bungie has only released a grand total of two of them thus far. Until today. The latest web comic tells the story of Ana Bray, a main character we will learn more about in Warmind, the upcoming DLC that will be released next week, and her search for Rasputin on Mars.
The 11 page comic, available in Bungie’s web comic viewer, gives us some insight into what Ana Bray is doing on Mars during the time of the Cabal invasion of the system. It provides a small, but welcome, tie in to the current timeline, and will no doubt give us a better idea of what’s going on once we head to Mars next Tuesday.
While Rasputin is clearly the focus of the Warmind DLC, it will be the connection between Ana Bray and our Guardians that will form the basis of the upcoming story. Love or hate the depth, or lack thereof, of Destiny 2 lore, it is nice to see more of it shown in the form of these web comics. While they clearly take a lot of work to create, it would be just lovely to get a few more of them, and not just prior to each upcoming content update.
