Over 10 million players have tried out the Open Beta of H1Z1 Battle Royale on the PS4. Players are rewarded with in-game items and new game mechanics.
Daybreak Games today announced that H1Z1 has been played by more than 10 million PlayStation 4 players since the game’s Open Beta launch on May 22, 2018.
Players have invested more than 102 million hours into H1Z1’s first month of Open Beta, and to celebrate, Daybreak Games is giving all players who have downloaded H1Z1 a Darkfire Pickup Truck and Sunrise Parachute in-game skin for free. Players that logged into H1Z1 prior today will be granted the in-game items directly to their inventory this weekend.
The in-game skins aren’t the only rewards for players who have been exploring the world of H1Z1. Daybreak Games has also released a substantial update today which includes a couple of new game mechanics that should significantly alter the way players experience the game.
The update introduces Revive mechanics and aim acceleration adjustments, as well as a new weapon, the Airstrike Signal, which allows players to call in a series of bombs to drop on enemies.
These new mechanics are currently only available on the PlayStation 4, leaving PC gamers who have been playing H1Z1 for a couple of years now hoping for some new changes as well. Hopefully, Daybreak Games will be bringing some of this new content to the PC soon.
H1Z1 will fully launch on the PlayStation 4 sometime later this year.
