Pokemon celebrates its 23rd anniversary this week, and Pokemon Go have a special event going on from the 26 to the 28
Niantic, the developers behind the hit, augmented reality game Pokemon Go, will celebrate Pokemon’s 23rd anniversary with a three-day event that kicks off on Feb. 26 at 1:00 p.m. PST, and ends on Feb. 28 1:00 p.m PST.
The Pokemon Go event features an increased chance for players to run into Pokemon they would find during the early part of the original game, in the Kanto region. Players also have more opportunities to run across a Shiny version of Pidgey and Rattata during their travels.
Trainers can also take part in challenging raids going on during this event where they have to defeat strong Pokemon from this region, using teamwork with other trainers with their best Pokemon team.
Lastly, the event brings about a special version of Pikachu and Eevee where they’re wearing flower crowns on their head. You can run across them during field research missions held during the event or discover them in the wild.
You can take part in official Pokemon Day starting tomorrow, and to show its support of the game Nintendo is hosting an exclusive Pokemon Direct early tomorrow morning.
