An extended teaser for Persona 5: The Royal has been released, showcasing a new female character.

Persona 5 was released worldwide in 2017 and proved to be very popular. The game stars a set of teenagers who travel through another dimension to become superheroes and steal the hearts of greedy businessmen. They are called the Phantom Thieves within the narrative of the game.

Despite the game being a few years old at this point, Atlus teased a few months something new is coming that is related to Persona 5. The title for this mysterious project was initially labeled as Persona 5R. Atlus has now released a new teaser, revealing the full title of this new game to be Persona 5: The Royale.

The teaser is very brief, only showing off a new female character. The new character wears the same uniform as those who go to the Shujin Academy, the same school which most of the main cast attended. Someone asks her opinion about the Phantom Thieves, and she gives an unfavorable opinion on the protagonists.

We aren’t given much new information other than that, and we don’t know who this new character is. It is unknown if Persona 5: The Royal is a game of the year edition of normal Persona 5, similar to how Persona 4 Golden was an expanded version of the original 4. Royal could also be a completely separate game that takes place in the same universe as Persona 5.

Atlus plans to reveal more on April 24.
