Hopoo Games and Gearbox have today announced that the early access game Risk of Rain 2 had surpassed one million units sold since its surprise release back in March.
“First off, we are beyond excited to announce that Risk of Rain 2has surpassed one million sales on Steam alone in the month following our Early Access launch!” Paul Morse and Duncan Drummond of Hopoo Games said in a Press Release given to Gamepur. “To give you guys a little bit of context, it took us almost five years to hit that same number on Steam for Risk of Rain 1. We are so excited to see how many of you are jumping into RoR 2 and bringing your friends with you; thank you all so much.”
The announcement follows the reveal of Risk of Rain 2’s roadmap for the next year, which will see a bunch of new characters, items, and features be added to the game as free updates up until the eventual full release of the game sometime in 2020.
Risk of Rain 2 is currently available to purchase on Steam for $19.99. It is a rogue-like third-person shooter game that tasks the player with finding a bunch of items and surviving against impossible odds for as long as possible.
