It’s not a mystery that Call of Duty 2019 (placeholder title, of course) is in the making at Infinity Ward, and it should be revealed very soon if everything goes by the general plan.

During the latest earnings call with investors and analysts, Activision has shared that the game will be formally announced by the end of the second quarter, which means by June 30, 2019.

Now, it is the usual reveal window for Call of Duty games, and perhaps a bit further as we expect a mid-May teaser of sorts, and then some community reveals as it happened last year with Black Ops III.

It shouldn’t take until E3 2019, by the way, which also happens early June, to learn what the next CoD will be all about, and by rumors, it should be Modern Warfare 4.

On top of that, Activision further elaborated on the idea that it wants players to stick for a longer time with the next Call of Duty, whatever it is, and this is why it is working on “game-changing experiences” for the post-launch period.

“We also recognise that we need to do even more to maintain the breadth of our Call of Duty player base beyond the launch quarters, and the Call of Duty team is hard at work on that for this fall’s big content release – excitement for which is incredibly high around the organisation,” said COO Coddy Johnson.

Perhaps, Activision and Infinity Ward could be working on something different than the usual rush of Zombie experiences and map packs for the post-release time. But what could it be?
