Square Enix might have teased a The Avengers Project reveal at E3 2019 a few weeks ago and then again on May 22, and no one even noticed that.

The teasers seem to have happened on social networks where the publisher reminded about the media briefing with a couple of posts.

In those posts, Square Enix has used background colors that are looking suspiciously similar to those of the Infinity Stones.

As you might know, if you’re familiar with The Avengers, Infinity Stones are common to multiple franchises of the Marvel Extended Universe and are expected to have a role in the game, too.

The Avengers Project was revealed in January 2017, two years ago, and since then we’ve not heard one single word about it – outside of some dev news.

Back in the days, it was announced as a “multi-year, multi-game partnership, leading with the reveal of The Avengers project.”

“This newly established partnership pairs the creative minds at Marvel and Square Enix for one of the most powerful alliances in interactive entertainment.”

The Avengers game is being worked on at Crystal Dynamics, the makers of Tomb Raider, with the help of Eidos Montreal, the team behind Deus Ex.

It doesn’t have defined platforms yet, but there’s a chance it might be coming directly to the next generation of consoles at this stage.
