The Pokémon Company have announced there will be a new event for Pokémon Go starring Snorlax.

In today’s Pokémon Press Conference for 2019, the Pokémon Company have announced that Snorlax will be more common in Pokémon Go for a new event.

The reason for so many Snorlax is, as described by the Pokémon Company because Snorlax are all falling over due to some “amazing adventures” coming in the following weeks. These Snorlax know an exclusive move called Yawn, which in the main games makes the opposing Pokémon fall asleep. Snorlax is literally the sleeping Pokémon, so it makes sense for him to have the move Yawn.

The special gimmick with the Snorlax in this recent event is that they are asleep while encountering them in the wild. Once they are captured, they are awake.

The official Pokémon Go website encourages players to take pictures with the sleeping Snorlax in the wild.

The new Snorlax event is currently active; it specifically began at the same time as when the conference began, May 28, 2019, at 6 p.m. PT. The event will end on June 3, at 1 p.m. PT. Hurry up and try to get all those sleeping Snorlax with Yawn!
