An anonymous source claims that DLC spanning the gap between Borderlands 2 and 3 is set to release the week of E3 2019.
Borderlands 3 is still a few months away, but we may not have to wait until its September release to continue the series’ story. That’s if a recent rumor is to be believed. A story published on Playstation Lifestyle today claims that Gearbox may be planning to release DLC for Borderlands 2 sometime around E3.
The news is attributed to “a trusted anonymous source with first-hand knowledge,” who said that the new DLC would be a direct link from Borderlands 2 to Borderlands 3. According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the new DLC is expected to be called Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, Lilith being a playable character from the first game who was a prominent NPC in the sequel and showed up in the Borderlands 3 trailer.
Other than the rumored title, there aren’t many details about the DLC, such as how long it will be, how much it will cost, or what platforms it will be available on. As the PlayStation Lifestyle story predicts, it’s a safe bet that it will show how characters from previous Borderlands games make their way onto the ship that serves as your command center in Borderlands 3.
This year’s E3 takes place June 11-13, so if the reported week-of-E3 release date is correct, we could have our hands on the DLC in about two weeks.
