A few hours ago, the world of gaming was once again shaken by the release of a brand new trailer for Death Stranding. It was as amazing as you were anticipating, which perhaps makes it a bit less amazing overall, and most importantly it featured a release date slated for this year.

Our fun is not over anyway, as Kojima Productions and Sony have offered different editing for the Japanese public. Those lucky guys have received more gameplay in their latest trailer, and we can get to watch it now, too, in the YouTube player below.

The additional gameplay scenes begin at around 6:05 mark, and over there you can see Sam Porter Bridges, the protagonist played by Norman Reedus, busy with a creature in what looks like a boss fight of sorts.

As we’ve seen in the gameplay trailer overall, Sam will be better running outside of fights when he is in the real/present dimension of Death Stranding, as he is not well armed and carries a heavy weight on his shoulders (literally). In the dimension of the past, he is better armed and can fight his way with an assault rifle, among the other things.

On top of that, you can also see the character played by Lindsay Wagner, Amanda, hostage of Troy Baker’s Higgs, formerly known as The Man in the Golden Mask. That’s something you don’t see in the Western trailer and perhaps adds more motivation to our mission as Sam, who’s not only in charge of saving the world but maybe has something personal to fix with the leader of Homo Demens terrorists.

As for the music, you can hear Apocalyptica’s “Path” being played the same as in the Western trailer, but this take has a female voice being played over it. So, while you can’t say whether it’s better or not, it sure sounds great.

Death Stranding is releasing on November 8, 2019, for PS4.
