Are you willing to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in VR?
It appears that the upcoming patch for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may add VR support.
It was earlier reported that a new update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was coming to the game. This new update will be called version 3.1.0, and the only official information we got about it is that it will readjust certain fighters.
According to an article by GameSpot, the patch will also bring VR support to the game. The news comes from Twitter user SSUBot, who shares the in-game notifications for the 3.1.0 patch. Among the notifications that SSUBot shares, the update will begin at 6 PM PST on May 30. The notifications report that VR will be a feature in the game. You’ll need a Toy-Con VR Goggles from the Labo VR kit to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in VR.
SSUBot’s notifications also reveal a new function for Amiibos. Apparently, gamers could now send their Amiibo characters off to “journeys to train.” Amiibos can battle against other Amiibo AIs, and take part in Battle Arenas.
We don’t know what Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will look like in VR. Will players be able to play the game through the eyes of the playable characters while in the match, or will the VR have a completely different function?
Update: The 3.1.0 version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now live, and Nintendo has unveiled a new trailer showcasing VR in the game.
