On June 6 Google will be making major announcements about Google Stadia, at the first ever Stadia Connect.
Google don’t want to wait until E3 2019 to bring you more information on the Stadia and are planning the first ever Stadia Connect for June 6. The announcement will be broadcast on the Stadia Youtube channel at 9 am PT/12pm ET, and will feature all sorts of interesting bits of information.
Some news can’t wait for #E3.

The announcement will cover pricing, what games will feature on the service, and launch details, which we can assume will be the launch date. The event will happen a week before E3, which normally means a company wants to have their information land in a good window to get attention, but not need to compete with all the news that will come out of E3 itself.
Google Stadia marks Google’s move into the gaming market proper, as they bring a cloud gaming service that promises an ability to stream games at 4K and 60FPS. Players will be able to play across multiple devices and will integrate with Youtube allowing you to instantly play the games related to the video content you watch. Because all information is stored in the cloud, there will be no downloads or updates, and Google has promised evolving tech that will be able to “always meet the demands of players, developers, and Youtube creators.”
Quite frankly, I don’t know where I stand on cloud gaming services. The idea of relying on an internet connection in that way might be a hurdle for a lot of people, as access to decent internet can still be a problem for many folks. There is also the issue with pricing; many people end up paying a pretty penny if they go over certain limits, and this could certainly hinder the service.
Still, not much can be said until we know a lot more about the tech that Google will be using to power Stadia, but at least we don’t have to wait much longer to find out.
