Dataminers have found evidence that the next Destiny 2 expansion arrives this Fall, and is called Shadowkeep.
Those sneaky dataminers have been poking around at Destiny 2’s files and discovered something very interesting. According to a post on Resetera, the next Destiny 2 expansion will be called Shadowkeep and will be coming this fall.
The expansion will apparently be set on a forgotten moon, which is to say the moon that the developers forgot about until now. That’s not; we will be returning to the lunar surface to do battle with Wizards. Maybe.
Interestingly, this expansion does not appear to be covered by the Annual Pass that people will have purchased. Instead, we are moving into a new part of the Destiny 2 cycle, and away from the content that was covered by the previous pass. There will also be a physical edition of the expansion that people can buy.
This would move us into Year 3 for Destiny 2 and is clearly the content that Bungie was talking about when they mentioned that we would find out more about the next stage of Destiny 2 on June 6. I’ll be watching carefully for more details, and will keep you updated as new information comes to light.
