The footage seems to have made Shenmue III fans very happy, as the gameplay looks very smooth. The footage showed plenty of action, with series protagonist Ryo Hazuki going toe-to-toe in some martial arts shenanigans against various opponents. We also get to see forklifts, whack-a-mole, returning characters that are sure to delight fans, and a solid look at the game’s graphics, which look great.
We will be seeing a lot more of Shenmue III at E3 2019 next week, but this has certainly been a great boost for fans who may have been worried about the game’s release date being pushed to November of this year. It seems things are going really well for Shenmue III development, despite these delays, if this footage is any indicator.
Shenmue III is being developed by Neilo and Ys Net and is published by Deep Silver. It is set to release on PS4 and PC. Recent rumors about an Xbox One release were shot down by Deep Silver, who stated there were no plans to bring the game to the console.
We will be keeping a close eye on E3 2019 to bring you all the breaking news, and will certainly be keeping an eye open for news on Shenmue III. For now, all we can is that the Walmart kiosk for letting us all have a sneak peek of what might be in store for us next week.
