RPG Time: The Legend of Wright showed up during Microsoft’s E3 2019 conference earlier today. The game is going to release sometime for the Xbox One and PC in 2020.
There are plenty of creative things happening in the trailer. It looks like something anyone who enjoys the Scribblenauts games would enjoy. The developers took a lot of ideas from a tabletop RPG game.
Players are going to have to focus on the outside of the game screen to see their inventory, health, power, and many other details while they watch the main screen, which contains a majority of the gameplay. It almost looks like an artist’s hand-drawn book, where players have to flip the pages to move on to the next room.
All of the drawings are consistently moving in the background, with the pencil located at the right side of the screen popping up to add in new details such as monsters or lootable chests.
Not everything sticks to the screen as various objects pop up from the page and serve as 3D objects, creatively imagined with cardboard cutouts attached to straws, attacking the hand-drawn player.
There’s plenty to love about this adorable action-adventure RPG game. You can play RPG Time: The Legend of Wright on the Xbox One and PC sometime in 2020.
