Now you can take over the world!
The highly anticipated follow-up by UK studio Rebellion’s of now-defunct Elixir Studio’s Evil Genius game has been unveiled at the PC Gaming E3 conference, Evil Genius 2: World Domination.
The game was announced with a cinematic trailer featuring a spy avoiding mainly traps and guards on their way to a watery, shark death.
Evil Genius 2: World Domination is set to continue the theme of the original game, where you play the villain, setting up your base to ensure that no spies make it to your home base. The game was lauded on its original release for its unique take on the Dungeon Keeper/tower defense style gameplay, good humor.
The art style seems to follow that of the original too, with bright colors and wackiness that suits the humor of the original. While no gameplay was shown for the new game, and no release date was announced, the trailer shows that the studio is well underway with its development. The original was released in 2004 by London studio Elixir, who closed not long after the release of the game. Rebellion purchased their IPs in 2006, including Evil Genius.
Rebellion Studios are known for the Sniper Elite games, known most for their ballistic physics and slow-mo shots that show a soldier being taken out. Their last project was third-person shooter Strange Brigade, which launched digitally last August to favorable reviews. You can check out their fun trailer for the new Evil Genius 2 below.
