More DLC could be on the way now to Smash Ultimate.
After announcing the collection of “Hero” characters from the Dragon Quest series and Banjo-Kazooie as the next two DLC fighters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, an odd thing popped up on the Smash Ultimate website.
There were only supposed to be five characters coming to Ultimate through the Fighters Pass, but after adding Joker from Persona 5 and announcing the new pair, two new slots for DLC fighters were added to the site’s graphic.
All of the current Fighter Pass’ DLC characters are supposed to be released by February 2020 according to an announcement by Nintendo, but that doesn’t stop them from adding more through a potential second season of DLC. This could mean echo fighters are going to be added for the next two characters, which would make sense because each Echo Fighter in the current game takes up their slot on the website.
There are also several characters that could potentially bring two slightly different loadouts to the game, but no such character has been rumored as of yet. Right now, this could be an error on the website that added more slots when Hero and Banjo were added to the site.
The internet will continue speculating on who will join the roster next, but
The next potential theory could point at Echo Fighters for the characters coming to the game in the future. Each Echo Fighter currently in the game has its own character page on the website, so the future DLC fighters could also come with an echo fighter page.
Hero will release sometime this Summer, and Banjo-Kazooie is joining the roster later this Fall, but the remaining two fighters we know are coming are still up in the air.
