Nintendo Switch ports of Capcom’s survival horror action games Resident Evil 5 & 6 are in the works.

Announced during Nintendo’s E3 Direct, the video showed two people entering a spooky house in the woods, armed with a Switch and playing the remake of the original Resident Evil, before the end of the trailer confirmed that Resident Evil 5 and 6 would be making their way to Switch.

Resident Evil 5 stars Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar in a brighter setting, with a heavier emphasis on co-op play and more action-oriented gameplay. While not as well received as its predecessor, Resident Evil 5 was still a fun adventure, and the co-operative nature of the game should suit the Switch and it’s Joy-Cons well.

Resident Evil 6 saw three separate story campaigns with Leon Clarke. Chris Redfield and Jake Muller where each segment played differently. Leon’s was more traditional Resident Evil, while Muller’s leaned more heavily on action. Ada Wong also later received a campaign as DLC for the game. While not as well received by fans, it still had its charm and contained plenty of content.

It will also be a chance to iron out any bugs from both games and show some improved visuals, including textures.

Both games are due for release in Fall 2019.
