In an open letter posted by Bandai Namco, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama has shared that the incoming Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will feature stories that have never been told in the manga nor in the anime, which should be good news for people wondering what the game could be about.
In an open letter posted by Bandai Namco, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama shared how the incoming Dragon Ball Z Kakarot features brand new stories that do not appear in the manga nor the anime.
After the reveal at E3 2019, we’ve heard fans discussing how was it possible to have a Dragon Ball Z game exclusively focused on Kakarot, or Goku, when he’s partially absent from many of the main stories told in the manga and anime in during specific narrative arc.
“Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an Action RPG, full of the Dragon Ball universe,” said Akira Toriyama in an open letter. “It includes backstories that haven’t been told in the manga, and I’m sure fans will truly be able to take a deep dive into the world. It’s a fresh new take on the franchise as you re-live the moment where Goku discovers his Saiyan bloodline and birth name, Kakarot. Experience the battles as they grow to become more and more unrelenting and fierce through cutting edge game visuals. I hope you enjoy the game!”
The game is coming on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in early 2020, and focuses on Goku’s story. Developers behind the title have pitched it as an open world game, which is excellent news for fans of the video games franchise. From an early round of footage, the gameplay looks similar to the latest One Piece title, World Seeker, also an open world by Bandai Namco.
