Anyone who purchases a digital version of Pokémon Sword and Shield by January 15, 2020, receives exclusive item codes to use in-game, Nintendo has announced.

The codes are only available for purchases off of the Nintendo Switch eShop, and the codes give players 12 Quick Balls to use at the beginning of the game. For those who don’t know, Quick Balls are unique Poké Balls that are more likely to catch Pokémon if used at the start of a fight.

Codes won’t be available at the start, however, and will start being distributed close to the game’s launch on Nov. 15. The last codes go out by Jan 15, 2020, and are valid until Nov 30, 2020.

The Pokémon Company have done similar codes distributions in the past for their other games to give trainers a small advantage, but it’s unlikely to swoon any new trainers to pre-order the game anytime soon.
