We just reported about the announcement of the Nintendo Switch Lite, the much-rumored revision of the Nintendo Switch. The console is coming on Sept 20, 2019, in three different colors, but there’s something more coming this autumn.
Nintendo already revealed the Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta edition, which were inspired by the legendary Pokémon protagonists in the upcoming Pokémon Sword & Shield. These versions release one week before Pokémon Sword & Shield launches on Nov 8.
Weirdly enough, this bundle won’t include a copy of the game. So for those interested – and we think you are, if you’re considering buying a Pokémon limited edition console – you need to purchase your game outside of the deal. The initial price for the bundle is $199.
The console is brilliantly designed, with light gray as the primary color, with a cyan and magenta shading all over the buttons and analog sticks. Of course, it has Zacian, and Zamazenta printed on the back. The Switch Lite is releasing in yellow, gray and turquoise, so you can instantly notice the difference.
The new, smaller, Switch Lite has a 5.5-inch screen and a resolution of 720p. It’s a handheld only system, with no dock, no TV connectivity via USB-C, and no detachable Joycons or rumble function. It works with all compatible games for the Nintendo Switch handheld mode.
