The Gears 5 Tech Test occurred over the weekend and players had an early look at the title’s multiplayer. One of the highly-anticipated new game modes, The Coalition, was also available.

On top of that, experts have eagerly been waiting for this test to check the performance on the game. They want to see if it holds the promise of running at 4K 60 frames per seconds in all the modes on Xbox One X.

While single-player Gears 5 mode is not available for these tests, we can see that thanks to VG Tech. The Versus mode uses a dynamic resolution ranging from native 2560×1440 to native 3840×2160. It varies on a player’s gameplay, though.

However, this is just for what matters the native resolution, as the game deploys a form of the temporal reconstruction as soon as it notices that the resolution is lower than 3840×2160. Meaning it fills the gaps for 4K. Native 4K is said to be “rare,” though, as shared on ResetEra.

Boot Camp, another competitive game mode, uses a dynamic resolution, with the lowest peak being native 1920×1080 and the highest is approximately native 3200×1800. Temporal reconstruction pushes for 4K pixel count here too, but it’s worth noting that native 1080p is rare in this mode.

As for the base Xbox One, Versus uses a dynamic resolution ranging from 720p to 900p, while temporal reconstruction brings the pixel count to 1080p. Boot Camp works between 720p and 1080p. As for Xbox One X, motion blur is enabled in the Boot Camp and disabled in the Versus mode.
