Over the last few months, we reported many issues Blizzard has had to face. These issues include new games abruptly getting canceled, and many of its staff members let go as part of an internal restructure. It looks like trouble has not finished yet, though.

As shared in the latest meeting with investors and analysts, we got to see that the company is going to focus on already established franchises. Blizzard does not seem to care too much into one franchise in particular which has contributed to make it such a beloved studio.

Kotaku’s Jason Schreier remarked on Twitter there is not a single mention to the StarCraft franchise at all. Call of Duty, Candy Crush, Warcraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and Diablo are all mentioned. We do know that new games and content in those series are on their way.

Schreier, who’s been following Blizzard’s things over the last couple years, continued with, “Activision Blizzard financial report makes it clear that they have lost all interest in StarCraft,” at the point, they don’t even consider it. This includes Heroes of the Storm, to name another one for the future of the label.

It’s very disappointing to hear such things as the game, and overall, the series is one of the most beloved out there. StarCraft comes with a significant community, alongside it was pivotal in crafting what esports currently are.

We know that Blizzard tried to turn it into a shooter but ultimately failed. Blizzard also let go some of the staffers who have been working on it until a few months ago.
