World of Warcraft Classic arrives closer to the end of the month, and you can pre-register your desired name and what realm you’d like to join starting today at 3 PM PST and 6 PM EST
World of Warcraft Classic launches at the end of the month, on Aug. 27. For those eager to jump back into the game, you can spend some time today reserving the name you’d like to use when the game starts back up. Blizzard made the process easy on their website.
How do you get access to the name reservation? Not everyone is going to have access to the program. To do so, you need to have an active subscription to World of Warcraft already or have game time on your World of Warcraft account. This information is on your Battle.net profile.
Not only are players going to get the chance to reserve their name, but they can also reserve which server those names get associated to on launch day. You’ll want to want to make sure you double-check with all of your friends about which server you want to join. If you get the wrong one, you may have a well-thought-out name stuck to the incorrect realm, preventing you from having a great first day back to World of Warcraft Classic.
Players need to keep in mind that the rules from the original World of Warcraft are going to apply here when it comes to character association. So, players can only play on one side for one of the main factions. It’s an easy thing to forget about, given the leaps and bounds of Blizzard ensuring players have more freedoms in the modern World of Warcraft game. Players are going to have access to 10 characters per realm, with a total of 50 characters for an entire region. All of those ten characters are going to align with a particular faction.
The entire process begins today, Aug. 12, at 3 PM PST and 6 PM EST. Make sure you’re ready to jump onto Battle.net to learn how exactly you go through the form registration.
Here’s the official post on Blizzard’s forum with all of the specific information outlined by the Blizzard team. World of Warcraft Classic launches on Aug. 27.
