The reveal trailer for the new racer from EA, Need For Speed Heat, has finally arrived. The game will embrace the idea of taking on the cops in high-speed races once again, as players will race in legal races called the Speedhunters Showdown during the day to earn the cash to hit the illegal racing circuit at night. The game will release on November 8, later this year.

The trailer is all neon lights, palm trees, and of course plenty of fast cars as Need For Speed Heat once again embraces an image of street racing that I am pretty sure only exists in Fast and the Furious movies. That said, the games tend to ere on the side of fun, so I am not complaining. The game will be set in the fictional Palm City, a new open-world for players to explore.

Best on the brief trailer, customization seems to be back, cops once again appear to have a keen interest in street racing. This time they appear to be a rogue police force, and I can’t wait to hear the kind of dialogue they have in store as I pull mad donuts in a parking lot. Then again, you don’t play Need For Speed for the dialogue; you play it for the pretty solid arcade racing. This rogue group of cops doesn’t just enjoy busting street racers; they also like stealing from them as well. A statement from EA about the game says they like to “swipe all your earnings,” so it doesn’t look like they will be stealing your cars, which is nice of them.

Because everything does these days, there will be a split release for the game. Origin Premier Access members will get the game on November 5, with the rest of the world waiting until November 8. The next trailer for the game will be revealed during the upcoming Gamescom in Germany.
