We’ve been waiting for so long for The Last of Us Part II new information and footage, and we could finally be very close to it being released at some point along the way as something never seen before has been showcased at a GameStop Managers Show.

According to a person who’s been in the attendance of the show, a vertical slice of the game was shown to GameStop managers, and if featured some “stealth” and very “dark” gameplay that has not been posted anywhere else in the past.

In the gameplay footage, Ellie could be seen using clickers to her advantage, which seems to be hinting at the fact that you could somehow make them attack other human enemies who could be looking into capturing her throughout her journey.

“All I can say is gameplay was about stealth and how you can use clickers to your advantage,” reads the tweet of the account ‘Gaming Forte.’ “Very short, but great vertical slice of gameplay,” he added, so it looks like it was just a teaser to let managers know there’s a game beyond the trailers we’ve seen thus far.

The demo was presented by, or at least discussed by, Troy Baker, Joel’s voice actor. We’re pretty sure the character wasn’t in the demo otherwise, you’d be seeing leaks all over the Internet since then. He hasn’t been confirmed thus far, and it seems he could be one of those last-minute surprises you want to reserve for the final product or the final marketing rush.

Gaming Forte shared that the gameplay “took place in a dark environment. Only fire and flashlights lit the environment.” While he didn’t want to comment on possible upgrades or comparison with E3 2018 footage, he did say that the title “will look great in HDR for sure.”

When asked about when we’ll get to see this demo in public, he shared that it’ll do “soon,” although we don’t know whether this is just his guess and wishful thinking or he was informed about that by Sony during the event. In case, the Outbreak Day is on September 26.

The Last of Us Part II doesn’t have a release date but, according to rumors, it’s coming early 2020.
