Risk of Rain 2 Is Available For The Nintendo Switch, Right Now

Risk of Rain 2 is now available for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop

Today is the day for Nintendo Switch owners, as Hopoo Games smash-hit Risk of Rain 2 is now available on the Nintendo eShop. The game had a surprise release today it would seem, and is available to purchase for $29.99.

Risk of Rain 2 drags the original’s classic rogue-like gameplay into 3D, putting a whole new spin on the cult classics challenging style. Randomized stages ensure no run is ever the same, as Survivors struggle to stay alive against an ever-growing onslaught of enemies. The goal of each stage is to find a teleporter, activate it, then survive until it finishes charging. Intent on stopping you will be a range of enemies and bosses.

Each level will contain chests and secrets that will give you items, and each item will give some buff or ability to your Survivor. Items can be stacked, increasing their effectiveness, and the games scaling system will see both you and your enemies grow in power the longer a run lasts.

Seven different Survivors, with more to come, all possess their own unique abilities and offer a range of playstyles depending on how you like to fight. Four-player co-op lets you team up with others to take the fight to your enemies, while an almost endless number of potential builds means you will never get bored of playing.

Risk of Rain 2 truly is one of the most enjoyable games of the year and has been a massive success for Hopoo on Steam, so seeing it come to the Nintendo Switch is fantastic. It also clocks in at a nice 1.2 GB, so will be gentle on your storage as well, which is good, as I predict it won’t get removed from many people’s consoles.
