Risk of Rain 2 is getting a physical release for the Nintendo Switch. After a surprise release in the eShop yesterday, the physical release will follow in November.
An Amazon listing has revealed that Risk of Rain 2 is getting a physical release on the Nintendo Switch. After appearing on the eShop yesterday, the physical release will follow up on Nov. 15. The game will cost $39.99 for the physical release, and also includes the original Risk of Rain.
Risk of Rain 2 drags the original’s classic rogue-like gameplay into 3D, putting a whole new spin on the cult classics challenging style. Randomized stages ensure no run is ever the same, as survivors struggle to stay alive against an ever-growing onslaught of enemies. The goal of each stage is to find a teleporter, activate it, and then survive until it finishes charging. A range of enemies and bosses are intent on stopping you.
Each level contains chests and secrets that give you items, and each item gives a buff or an ability to your Survivor. Items can stack, increasing their effectiveness, and the game’s scaling system has both you and your enemies growing in power as the run progresses.
There are seven different Survivors, with more to come. All of them possess unique abilities and offer a range of playstyles, depending on how you like to fight. Four-player co-op lets you team up with others to take the fight to your enemies.
If you don’t want to wait for the physical release, you can pick up Risk of Rain 2 on the eShop right now for $29.99.
