343 Industries has announced it will be sharing invitations for the first Halo Reach flight on Xbox One very soon, as early as this week.

Invitations will be deployed in a few days, but the team has been rather explicit about one simple request it has for people willing to participate: delete all the previous Halo Insider builds, otherwise the latest could have technical issues when started.

The test will be useful for the developer to understand how PvP works on this new version of the game, which is being released as part of Halo: The Master Collection Collection on the console.

“First and foremost, we are looking to test Player vs. Player (PvP) matchmaking at scale on Xbox One,” said the studio in a blog post on Halo Waypoint.

“The team has spent a significant amount of time getting the backend setup and have tested it at a smaller scale for PvP, but it is time to stress-test everything further,” said 343i. The studio further explained that the purpose of the test will go beyond the simple stress of the servers.

“The other key goal is to gather feedback from players on the game experience. We want to know how the game feels, plays, and what your input is on the map, mode, and offerings provided for the overall PvP experience.”

It’s worth noting that Halo Reach on Xbox One is going to be more a remaster of sorts rather than a simple re-offering of the game in the MCC. As it, for example, will come complete with a new progression system powered by Unreal Engine, on top of the already existing engine of the game (which had led to several technical issues, now fixed).
