A new leak revolving around Overwatch 2 provides further details to the game’s impending PvE mode, and a new game mode players can expect to try out. All of this could be available at BlizzCon 2019.
We’re learning about more rumors circulating over the potential announcement Blizzard is going to have at BlizzCon 2019 about an Overwatch 2. According to ESPN’s sources, the new game is going to feature all-new maps, game modes, a dedicated PvE series of games with a high focus on narrative, heroes, and even in-game items.
You can check out a small preview of the document ESPN obtained in the image above. The guide broke down some of the previews players can expect to see in the new game, and those attending this year’s BlizzCon may get the chance to try out the new title at one of the booths at the event. They’ll be able to play the new PvE gameplay and the new competitive game mode called “Push.”
New missions are going to come to the game, where they feature a more narrative focus. Rather than the traditional six vs. six modes, a new task is going to have players working together in a four-player team, trying to complete several objectives while following an engaging story. The four-player mode is expected to take place in Rio de Janeiro.
A new mechanic coming to the series is the introduction of hero talents and in-game items. These could shake up the general gameplay, giving players more of a variety with their favorite heroes during a match.
For those eager to get a new game mode called “Push,” we don’t know too much about it. This game mode is going to come to a new map inspired by Toronto. Hopefully, we’re going to learn more during BlizzCon 2019.
The BlizzCon 2019 event is going to take place for the weekend. Blizzard is remaining extremely quiet about the details of the game. At this time, there are six events taking place at the convention, but we don’t know what they’re about. Many believe this is where they’re going to bring about their upcoming projects, such as Overwatch 2, Diablo 2 Remastered, and a Diablo 4.
We can expect to hear more when Blizzard comes forward with a formal announcement at BlizzCon 2019, which is going to begin later this week on Friday, Nov. 1.
