The PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently down, not great for those looking for a gaming weekend
Reports are coming in from gamers and developers on social media that there appear to be some issues with network play on PlayStation’s Network.
The service, which has seen one major outage already this year that saw all of their services down for several hours, appears to be showing that games and social aspects of the service are currently experiencing issues through the PlayStation service tracking website.
It currently leads with the message, “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”
Developers, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s developer Infinity Ward, have released tweets that have noted the outage and are investigating the situation.
Although an outage is never a good time for players, the timing for one is favorable with no major releases this week, and only Death Stranding, a mostly single-player adventure, out next week.
The extent of the outage is not currently known but doesn’t seem to affect all players from Sony’s statement.
There is currently no fix for this as the issue is on the end of Sony, but we recommend to keep trying to connect and play if you are experiencing problems and keep an eye on the status website.
