A new lore book coming out for Cyberpunk 2077 reveals a possible glimpse at part of the game’s map.
In a move that’s only further building hype for the upcoming CD Projekt Red RPG Cyberpunk 2077, Dark Horse Comics is set to release the art book The World of Cyberpunk 2077 next year. But eagle-eyed—or perhaps cybernetically enhanced?—fans may have noticed an interesting feature of the book’s cover: It’s a map.
Revealed as part of the deluxe edition of the book, the cover image seems to show a partial view of the game’s map. There has been no official confirmation from CD Projekt Red, and it is important to note that the book is supplementary material for the game, so the map on the cover could have been edited and changed to fit it, or it could be an early version. Still, it’s something.
Based on a popular table-top role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the fictional world of Night City, where players get to explore its large, dense metropolis. They have also stated they are experimenting with destructible environments. The book will dive into the history, world, and the characters of the game, but it doesn’t release until after the game itself.
CDPR likes to keep details close to their chest, so we probably won’t know exactly what the game map will completely look like until the game releases next April. The company has said that while the game map is smaller than that of The Witcher 3, the map is much more dense and populated.
