Battlefield V Community Games Coming Next Week, Followed by Classic Wake Island Map

Players in Battlefield 5 can create custom playlists of their favorite maps and game modes in Community Games, and Wake Island arrives with a few modifications

The Battlefield V community spoke, and DICE, listened.

Starting Dec. 9, players can access customized playlists created by members of the community in a custom game section called, as you might guess, Community Games.

Any player in Battlefield V can create a playlist of Community Games with custom game settings, featuring their favorite game modes and maps, for members of the community as a whole or just a small group of friends. If you create a server, you set up a password to ensure only those who know it can come in, and if anyone causes issues, you can kick them from it.

There are limitations to the customized games, though. Players cannot choose which vehicles, weapons, or classes are available on every map, but they can curate the overall playlist. Developer DICE has said they plan to bring more features and options to the Community Games in the new year.

Before that arrives, though, DICE are bringing the classic map Wake Island back on Dec. 12. Wake Island first showed up in Battlefield 1942, and later in Battlefield 3. Battlefield V‘s version is said to be twice the size of the original, however, the map was given denser vegetation to ensure it doesn’t become a sniper’s playground.
