The newest iteration of one of the defining franchises of the iconic anime fighter genre is now coming to the Nintendo Switch. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4: Road to Boruto (that’s a title and a half right there) heads to Nintendo’s flagship console in April of next year.

Despite being what some may see as a delayed port—similar to the Switch’s acquisitions of Overwatch and Diablo III years after their launches on other systems—the newest Naruto entry will come with a few bonuses.
The base game was released in 2016, four years prior to the launch of Naruto on Switch, but has received multiple expansions since. It continues to be both a popular party game (especially for the anime enthusiasts) and a competitive fighting game, with over 20 million copies sold, alongside the development of a flourishing tournament scene from ESL.
An additional release of downloadable content will accompany the game’s launch on the Switch. The content package “New Generations,” titled as such to reflect Boruto being the next generation of Naruto, will include 11 alternate character costumes.
Fans may have complained if the launch DLC had only included cosmetics, but Bandai Namco have been sure to also include two new characters: Momoshiki and Kinshiki.
