All Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 rumors and leaks – Start date, Battle Pass skins, and more

An Attack on Titan Crossover and a Japanese theme may be coming in the next season.

From Oathbound to Cipher, the current season of Fortnite has earned several different questlines during its three-month span. However, unlike previous seasons, their lore has not given players much of a clue as to what to expect in Chapter 4 Season 2. Despite this fact, there are still several rumors and leaks surrounding this upcoming content drop, such as its Battle Pass cosmetics and map changes. Here’s everything potentially coming in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 and when the season is expected to start.

What is the start date of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

After weeks of speculation, Fortnite Status’s official Twitter account has confirmed that Chapter 4 Season 2 is scheduled to begin on March 10. However, before it is live, the game will go into a short downtime starting at 2 AM ET on this date. If the season is like any before it, players should be able to dive into Chapter 4 Season 2 anywhere between three to four hours after the servers are temporarily shut down.

All rumored skins in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Battle Pass skins

In recent weeks, reliable dataminers HYPEX and ShiinaBR took to Twitter to display what they claim are eight skins inside the Battle Pass. This surprisingly includes a reptilian humanoid, a new Drift outfit, and Attack on Titan‘s Eren Yeager — the latter of which ShiinaBR has reasoned to be the season’s secret skin. With just hours to go before the season’s launch, Fortnite has now confirmed each of these skins with individual Instagram posts detailing their designs and accessories. Best of all, a new Chapter 4 Season 2 teaser has officially showcased the Battle Pass skins alongside a never-before-seen POI.

Resident Evil crossover skins

New rumors have also come to disclose the season’s potential Item Shop offerings. HYPEX stated that the store could be carrying skins of Resident Evil’s Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield in the near future. The game’s developer has not verified these rumors as of yet, but the battle royale has already crossed over with the horror franchise in the past with the release of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine outfits in late 2021.

All rumored map changes in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Japanese-themed map

Typically, map and loot changes are the very last details to reveal themselves before a season starts, but there are a few rumors that point to what Chapter 4 Season 2 has in store. Although players should not expect a brand new map, ShiinaBR has suggested the current medieval setting will be substituted for a “futuristic-Japanese” theme. If this ends up being true, Dark Age-inspired locations such as The Citadel, Anvil Square, and Breakwater Bay may be in for some major alterations.

Developer Epic Games has recently announced that the season is named Mega, with its logo simply being the word written out in Japanese, bolstering the weight of these leaks even more. However, Mega may not just be the name for the season. Dataminer and Twitter user FN_Assist, who has been known to correctly predict upcoming challenges, noted that the Japanese POI shown in all of the season’s teasers may go by Mega City.

Lucky Landing

Shorting after claiming a Japan-themed map would come, ShiinaBR alleged that long-retired POI Lucky Landing may also be included inside of it. The location last appeared in Season X during Chapter 1 and sported a collection of buildings with classic Japanese architecture as well as a central cherry blossom tree.

All rumored weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Waist Grappler Mythic

As this is not the start of a new chapter, Chapter 4 Season 2 is bound to bear several of the weapons and gear featured in the current season. It is currently unknown which items will stand the test of time, though one leak may have spoiled the introduction of an upcoming weapon. According to HYPEX, Eren Yeager may seemingly make his Fortnite debut alongside an alleged Waist Grappler Attack on Titan Mythic. It is also said the Mythic will be shown in a Season 2 Loading Screen cosmetic featuring Eren, but players should take these claims with a grain of salt until these items are confirmed.

Katanas and swords

HYPEX also pointed to the possible additions of katanas and swords in order to complement its Japanese-themed map. The melee weapons would be the first of their kind since the Infinity Blade Mythic was introduced in Season 7, though Creative mode does currently hold a Basic Sword that deals 25 damage per swing.

Futuristic weapons

According to iFireMonkey, various in-game files point to at least four new weapons coming at launch. This includes a Smart Pistol that supposedly tracks onto enemies and a “Rope and Chains Grenade Launcher,” though its function is unclear. Meanwhile, the proven leaker has also suggested fans will soon spot new variations of the Pump Shotgun and Ranger Assault Rifle.

Vaulted items

At the time of writing, Epic Games has not released a list of current weapons set to be vaulted, but it may have already begun to remove some for the foreseeable future. Since the start of March, the loot pool for all battle royale modes has seen Slurp Juice and the Shockwave Hammer become vaulted. While the reason for this is unknown, it is unclear if they will be available in Chapter 4 Season 2.

Will there be a live season finale event before Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

Oddly enough, a live season finale event has not been announced yet for Chapter 4 Season 1 — something that typically happens at least a week before it’s scheduled. Although one could still be announced, players have reported seeing a new Rift above the in-game map. Typically, Rifts have played a major role in Fortnite’s lore, transporting in new locations and destroying older ones on the map. Thus, fans should keep an eye out on this Rift shortly before Chapter 4 Season 2 begins.
